Copper prices rose to a 15-year high

From March last year to May this year, domestic copper prices soared from around 35,000 yuan per ton to 75,000 yuan per ton. As the price of copper has reached a high point in nearly 15 years, the cost of raw materials purchased by enterprises is increasing every day. Because the price is too high, enterprises dare not purchase raw materials, and the whole workshop can hardly see raw copper except finished cables. At present, enterprises have compressed production capacity to reduce the risk brought by high price copper. A number of companies visited found that since May this year, copper processing enterprises have reduced production, in sharp contrast to the same period of previous years, production has been forced to slow down, shipments have fallen significantly, resulting in high finished goods inventory.
